Rachel was born on June 10th, 1766 in ,Orange,Nc. Rachel's father was Thomas Vestal and her mother was Elizabeth Davis. Her paternal grandparents were William Vestal and Elizabeth Mercer; her maternal grandparents were Charles Davies and Hannah Elizabeth Matson. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Jesse, David, Silas, Hannah, Mary and Jemima. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 82 on October 1st, 1848 in Yadkinville,Yadkin,Nc.-
