His paternal grandparents were Stephen Hobson and Ann Barnes; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Vestal and Elizabeth Davis. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, David, George, Thomas, Isaac, Anne and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died about 1875 in San Jose,Santa Clara,Ca.-
