Moved to Rowan/Surry/Yadkin County in 1748 from Winchester, Va, with the Morgan Bryan Family. Purchased 587 acres on the North bank of the Yadkin River near Huntsville in 1748. The Squire Boone Family and son Daniel did not arrive until 1750 in Rowan county. George Forbis and Daniel Boone's wife Rebecca Bryan's Grandfather Morgan Bryan were the first two European Settlers to live west of the Yadkin River in Surry/Yadkin County, NC in 1748. We suspect that George Forbis b. bef. 1720 was the brother of William Forbis b. abt 1690 and not his son. William Forbis married Margaret Bryan and George Forbis traveled with Morgan Bryan.
