John (Parson Jack) was born on January 22nd, 1772 in Buckingham, Virginia. John (Parson Jack)'s father was Nathan Ayres Col. and his mother was Mary Christian Leake. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Ayres and Elizabeth Hales; his maternal grandparents were Walter Leake , Jr. and Judith Mask. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Nathan, Walter Leake, Matthias, Peter Leake, Judith, Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales, Mary Agnes (Polly), Jane (Jean) and Martha (Patsy). Matthias Leake Ayres
Matthias Leake was born on December 11th, 1813 in Buckingham County, Virginia.8 He died at the age of 39 on October 29th, 1853.9
