Matthias Ayres 
Matthias was born on August 31st, 1781 in Buckingham County, Virginia.1 Matthias' father was Nathan Ayres Col. and his mother was Mary Christian Leake. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Ayres and Elizabeth Hales; his maternal grandparents were Walter Leake , Jr. and Judith Mask. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John (Parson Jack), Samuel, Nathan, Walter Leake, Peter Leake, Judith, Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales, Mary Agnes (Polly), Jane (Jean) and Martha (Patsy). He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 70 in 1851 in Saline County, Missouri.1 -
