John Bransford was born on June 11th, 1794 in Buckingham, Virginia.1   John Bransford's father was John (Parson Jack) Ayres Rev. and his mother is Elizabeth Bransford.  His paternal grandparents were Nathan Ayres Col. and Mary Christian Leake; his maternal grandfather was John II Bransford and his maternal grandmother is Judith Amonett. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Nathan "W", Samuel, Owen Million, Matthias Leake, Judith Leake, Mary Hales, Martha, Elizabeth F. and Elijah.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 64 on May 24th, 1859.2

‌John Bransford and Maria (Mariah) were married in a religious ceremony on December 4th, 1816.3   They had four sons and two daughters, named Albert B., John William, Samuel Ford, William B., Elizabeth Hannah Hales and Maria Ann.
