Eli Bailey 
Eli was born about 1820 in Rock, Mercer Co., Virginia.1 Eli's father was RICHARD Patton Bailey and his mother was ISABEL F. Ferguson. His paternal grandparents were RICHARD Patton Bailey and ELIZABETH Anne Belcher; his maternal grandparents were SAMUEL Ferguson and MARY Jameson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named SAMUEL L., Richard Patton, Jameson Walker, Henry, John, MARY Elizabeth, Mary Frances, Sarah and Margaret. He was the youngest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers named Zachariah Henry and Elijah P.. He died about 1903 in House of Green Bailey, Mercer Co., West Virginia. Addressed as "Squire Bailey". He operated the "Tunnel Mill" near Rock and was a blacksmith. Buried in Bailey Cemetery at Rock at intersection of Lake Shawnee & Wright Mtn Rd. Died at the home of his son Greenville (the former home of Richard, Jr.).
