Marie De was born about 1204 in Of,Constantinople,Constantinople,Turkey.  Marie De's father was Pierre II De Courtenay and her mother was Yolanda, Condesa de Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Pierre I Capet de France and Elizabeth De Courtenay; her maternal grandparents were Baudouin VIII Compte De Flanders y Hainault and Margaret , of Alsace de Lorraine. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Philippe De, Pierre De, Robert De, Henri De, Baudoin De, Marguerite De, Sibylle De, Yolande De, Agnes De, Elizabeth De, Eleanor De and Constance De.  She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. She had a half-sister named Mahaut.  She died in September 1222.
