King of Jerusalem 1131-1143. Joined the crusade to marry Melisend Queen of Jerusalem and intended to settle in Jerusalem. He fell in love with Melisend but she didn't share his affection. He was a stocky read head in his 30's. He was rich and brought an army with him. He and Baldwin enlarged the empire and attacked Domascus and allied themselves with the Assassons in order to get help from to conquer the city. It rained and they got bogged down in the mud. Foulques V died in a hunting accident when his horse fell on him and he was killed by the saddle.
Baudouin I, (Bauldwin) took four sons to the crusade. Fulk became King of Jerusalem and remained there. He became King of Jerusalum. He was Count Fulk of Anjou and Foulques.
