Ralph Roscoe was born on August 17th, 1907 in Pike Co., AL.1 Ralph Roscoe's father was Robert E. Lee Rushing and his mother was Alice Amelia Stroud. His paternal grandparents were John Eager Howard Rushing and Eliza Jane Jenerett; his maternal grandparents were David Stroud and Martha Low Davison. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John Robert, James Leon, Jennings Bryan, Woodrow Wilson, Nell and Dorthy. He was the third youngest of the seven children.
