Phillip Jefferson was born on December 22nd, 1907 in ?.1 Phillip Jefferson's father was Baron DeKalb Washington Rushing and his mother was Mary Bell Rudd. His paternal grandparents were Mathew Malachi Rushing and Martha E. Ham. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Charlie M., Baron DeKalb Washington, Jr., Andrew Jackson, William Wesley, Etta, Laura S., Carrie Bell and Cora Lee. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named John Thomas Edmous, Leroy, Franklin Jerome, Bessie Mae, Annie Beatrice, Edith and Mary E.. He died at the age of 80 in August 1988 in ?.1 -
