Rohese was born in 1115 in <,,England>.1 Rohese's father was King Henry I (Beaucleric, Fine Scholar) De Normandy Of England and her mother was Sybilla Corbet Of Alcester - Concubine. Her paternal grandparents were King William I (The Couqueror) De Normandy Of England and Matilda De Flanders; her maternal grandfather was Robert Corbet. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Robert, William, Gilbert, Elizabeth Joan, Eustacis, Sibylla Elizabeth, Emma and Gundrada. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had nine half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Richard, Fulk, Atheling, Richard, Henry, Fitzhenry, Robert, Reginald, Herbert, Juliana, Elizabeth, Euphamia, Matilda, Constance Maud, Matilda, Alice, Isabelle and Maud. She died at the age of 61 in 1176.2 General Notes

Rohese married a powerful baron in the neighboring county of Devon. Henry de la Pomerai had been a firm supporter of the king in the rebellion of 1123 and later became deputy constable in the royal household. He and Rohese were married while he was serving as a captain in the king's household forces. They prospered under Henry II with de la Pomerai performing various administrative duties in the royal service. In 1154, for example, he was to be found overseeing the purchase of £17's worth of seed for sowing the royal manors of Northamptonshire.
