Baldwin V, known as The Pious, was born about 1012 in Flandres and his baptism took place in Flanders (Ancien.  The Pious' father was Earl Baldwin IV (Fair Beard) De Flanders and his mother was Otgive Aachen Of Luxembourge.  His paternal grandparents were Count Arnulf II De Flanders and Princess Susanna "Rosella" De Ivera Of Italy; his maternal grandparents were Count Frederic I Aachen Of Luxembourge and Ermentrude De Wetterau Of Gleiberg. He had a sister named Ermengarde.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-sister named Fausta.  He died on September 1st, 1067 in Lille,France.  He was buried in ,Lille,Nord,France.


The Pious' family with Princess Adela Capet Of France

‌The Pious and Adela were married in a religious ceremony in 1028 in Paris,Seine,France.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Baldwin VI, The Frisian, Matilda and Judith.
