Baldwin VI was born about 1030 in Flanders.1   Baldwin VI's father was Earl Baldwin V (The Pious) De Gaunt Of Flanders and his mother was Princess Adela Capet Of France.  His paternal grandparents were Earl Baldwin IV (Fair Beard) De Flanders and Otgive Aachen Of Luxembourge; his maternal grandparents were King Robert II (The Pious) Capet Of France and Princess Constance De Aqu. He had a brother and two sisters, named The Frisian, Matilda and Judith.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William I, Alix and Helena.  He died on July 17th, 1070 in Flanders - 9th C.  He was buried in Hanson Abbey.1
