William Cox 
William was born on September 2nd, 1761 in Holly Springs,Chatham Co. North Carolina. William's father was Benjamin Cox and his mother was Martha Garretson. His paternal grandparents were John II Cox and Hannah Jenkins; his maternal grandparents were Casparius Garretson and Ann Cox. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin , Jr., Simon, John, Thomas, Joseph, Jeremiah, Ruth and Amy "Naomi". He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 83 on January 15th, 1845 in Holly Springs,Chatham Co. North Carolina.General Notes
