Joseph Cox 
Joseph was born in 1759 in Holly Spring,Orange,North Carolina. Joseph's father was Benjamin Cox and his mother was Martha Garretson. His paternal grandparents were John II Cox and Hannah Jenkins; his maternal grandparents were Casparius Garretson and Ann Cox. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin , Jr., Simon, John, Thomas, William, Jeremiah, Ruth and Amy "Naomi". He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 69 in 1828.General Notes
