John Cox 
John was born on December 22nd, 1756 in Roan County,N. C..1 John's father was Benjamin Cox and his mother was Martha Garretson. His paternal grandparents were John II Cox and Hannah Jenkins; his maternal grandparents were Casparius Garretson and Ann Cox. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin , Jr., Simon, Thomas, Joseph, William, Jeremiah, Ruth and Amy "Naomi". He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 70 on September 9th, 1827 in Winchester,Randolph,IN. He was buried in Winchester,Randolph,IN.General Notes
