Dessie Pearl Toothman 
Dessie Pearl was born on August 6th, 1887 in Plum Run, WV. Dessie Pearl's father was Cyrenus (Yank) Toothman and her mother was Elizabeth Angeline Haught. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander (Big Alec) Toothman and Sarah Wetzel; her maternal grandparents were George Haught and Anna Joanfernandez (Nandis) Fluharty. She had seven brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Clarence Grover, George Edward, Denzil Fay, Arthur Gay (Petie), Elmus Kemper (Cocky), Everett Dee, Earnest Vane, Arizona Ella, Goldie Ethel, Stella Grace, Retha Dale and Alta Roxie. She was the oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 92 on September 12th, 1979.General Notes
After Bert's death, Dessie worked to support her five daughters. She was janitor of Worthington WV Grade School for many years, then ran a store and Post Office at Four States, WV from 1938 to 1951. She is buried in Brumage Cemetery, Ices Run, WV
