Sir was born before 1349 in of Betchworth, Surrey.1 Sir's father was Richard Fitzalan II Earl of Arundel and his mother was Eleanor Plantagenet. His paternal grandparents were Edmund Fitzalan Earl of Arundel and Alice de Warenne; his maternal grandparents were Henry "Wryneck" Plantagenet Earl of Lancaster and Maud de Chaworth. He had a brother named Richard Fitzalan III. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother named Edmund De Arundel. He died on December 15th, 1379 in Irish Sea.1 General Notes
