Maud was born in 1282 in Kidwelly, Carmarthen, England/Wales.1 Maud's father was Sir and her mother was Isabella de Beauchamp. Her paternal grandparents were Patric de Chaworth and Hawise de Londres; her maternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp Earl of Warwick and Maud FitzJohn. She had a half-brother named Hugh le Despenser the. She was buried in Mottisfont Priory.1 1 General Notes
