Maud was born in 1138 in Rycott, Oxford, England.1 Maud's father was Geoffrey de Mandeville the Outlaw Earl of Essex and her mother was Rohese de Vere. Her paternal grandparents were William De MANDEVILLE and Margaret de Rie; her maternal grandparents were Alberic II (Aubrey) de Vere Lord Vere and Alice de Clare. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Simon, Beatrice and Alice. She died in England.1 General Notes
