Gilbert de Tousburg was born in 1065 in Clare, Suffolk, England.1 Gilbert de Tousburg's father was Richard FitzGilbert de Clare and his mother was Rohese Giffard. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Ct of Brionne and Gunnora de Aunou; his maternal grandparents were Walter Giffard sn de Longueville and Agnes Ermentrude Flaitel. He had two brothers and a sister, named Richard FitzRichard de Clare, Robert FitzRichard and Rohese. He had two half-brothers named Gilbert and Robert. He died at the age of 52 in 1117 in England.1 General Notes
