Pierre de Courtenay Emp of Constantinople 
Pierre de Courtenay was born about 1125 in Montargis, France.1 Pierre de Courtenay's father was Louis VI Capet le Gros King of France and his mother was Adelaide de Savoie. His paternal grandparents were Philippe I Capet the Fair King of France and Bertha de Hainault; his maternal grandparents were Humbert II le Gros de Maurienne Ct of Savoy and Gisele de Burgundy. He had two brothers and a sister, named Louis VII Capet le Jeune, Robert Capet de Dreux and Constance. He was the youngest of the four children. He died on April 10th, 1183 in Palestine.1 General Notes
