Gertrude von Sachsen

Gertrude was born in 1028 in of Schweinfurt, Unterfranken, Bavaria.¹ Gertrude's father was Bernhard II von Sachsen Duke of Saxony and her mother was Elika von Schweinfurt. Her paternal grandparents were Bernhard I von Sachsen Duke of Saxony and Hildegarde von Stade; her maternal grandparents were Henry von Schweinfurt Ct of Schweinfurt and Gerberge von Henneberg. She had a brother and a sister, named Ordulf von Brunswick and Ida Billung. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 85 on August 4th, 1113.¹
