Edward Heyward was born on November 1st, 1902 in Walterboro, SC.1 Edward Heyward's father was James Medicus Benton and his mother was Annie Elizabeth Bishop. His paternal grandparents were Edward H. Benton and Martha Ann Elizabeth Varn. He had six brothers and four sisters, named David Benjamin, Kelly Lee, Laurie Jasper, James McDuffie, George Talbert, Richard Brantley, Janie, Beulah May, D. Effie and Infant. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 70 on June 2nd, 1973 in Walterboro, SC.1 -
