Edward H. Benton

Edward H. was born in 1832 in Colleton County, SC.¹   Edward H.'s father was John Benton and his mother was Martha (Mattie) Hudson.  His maternal grandfather was William Hudson?. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph C., William Sylvester, Child, Martha, Arthie and Vinnie. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Oliver, Benjamin Gaines, Henry Richard, Mack Doran, Berry Garris, Remmy, Susan Ann, Jane and Mary.  He died at the age of 32 in September 1864.¹
