Arthie Benton

Arthie was born on February 19th, 1827 in Colleton County, SC.¹   Arthie's father was John Benton and her mother was Martha (Mattie) Hudson.  Her maternal grandfather was William Hudson?. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph C., William Sylvester, Edward H., Child, Martha and Vinnie. She had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Oliver, Benjamin Gaines, Henry Richard, Mack Doran, Berry Garris, Remmy, Susan Ann, Jane and Mary.  She died at the age of 91 on January 20th, 1919.¹
