Benjamin Gaines Benton

Benjamin Gaines was born on January 7th, 1834 in Colleton County, SC.¹   Benjamin Gaines' father was John Benton and his mother was Miss DeWitt. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry Richard, Mack Doran, Berry Garris, Jane and Mary. He had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Joseph C., William Sylvester, Edward H., Child, James Oliver, Martha, Arthie, Vinnie, Remmy and Susan Ann.  He died at the age of 77 on January 10th, 1911 in Goodwin Farm, Colleton Cnty, SC.¹
