James Medicus Benton 
James Medicus was born on March 22nd, 1855 in Walterboro, SC.1 James Medicus' father was Edward H. Benton and his mother was Martha Ann Elizabeth Varn. His paternal grandparents were John Benton and Martha (Mattie) Hudson. He had a brother named George Abner. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 81 on July 12th, 1936 in Walterboro, SC.1
