Molly was born on March 11th, 1775 in Louisa Co., VA. Molly's father was Thomas Poindexter and her mother was Lucy Jones. Her paternal grandparents were John P. Poindexter and Christian Gossage. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named John, Gabriel Jones, Thomas, James, Richard Jones, Robert, William, George, Elizabeth Jones and Lucy Jones. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
