John Poindexter 
John was born in 1756 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co., Virginia. John's father was Thomas Poindexter and his mother was Lucy Jones. His paternal grandparents were John P. Poindexter and Christian Gossage. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Gabriel Jones, Thomas, James, Richard Jones, Robert, William, George, Elizabeth Jones, Lucy Jones and Molly. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 64 on September 28th, 1820.-
