Ruth Newiss

Ruth was born on June 1st, 1864 in Boston Spa, Yorkshire, England.¹ Ruth's father was Joseph Newiss and her mother was Ann Hartley. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Newis and Sara (Newhouse). She had six brothers and four sisters, named James, Enoch, Joseph, Edwin C, Charles, Frank, Elizabeth, Sarah Elizabeth, Kate and Esther Ann. She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.
