Robert was born on November 27th, 1746 in Ashton On Mersey, Cheshire, England.  Robert's father was John MARSLAND and his mother was Mary WILLIAMSON.  He had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Edward, Edward, James, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel, Mary and Betty.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.
