John was born on December 27th, 1752 in Ashton On Mersey, Cheshire, England.  John's father was John MARSLAND and his mother was Mary WILLIAMSON.  He had four brothers and six sisters, named Robert, Edward, Edward, James, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel, Mary and Betty.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 93 on November 10th, 1846 in Sale, Cheshire, England.
