Ranulph de was born in 1099 in Guernon Castle, Normandy, France and his baptism took place in 1116.1   Ranulph de's father was Ranulph III de Meschines 3rd Earl of Chester, Viscount Bayeux and his mother was Countess Lucia Taillebois Countess of Chester.  His paternal grandparents were Ranulph II Of Bayeux Vicomte of Bayeux and Maud (Margaret) D' Avranches; his maternal grandparents were Ives (Ivo) de Taillebois , 1st Baron of Kendal and Lucia of Mercia. He had a brother and four sisters, named William De, Adeliza de, Alice Of, Agnes Le and N.N.. He had a half-brother named William de.  He died  due to poisoned at the age of 54 on December 16th, 1153 in of Chester, Cheshire, England.  He was buried in St. Werburgh, Chester, Cheshire, England.1 2 


Ranulph de's family with Maud Fitzrobert De Gloucester

‌Ranulph de and Maud Fitzrobert De were married in a religious ceremony in 1141 in Gloucestershire, England.1   They had two sons and four daughters, named Richard de, Hugh  Keveliok (3Rd Earl), Maud, Alice de, Johanna de and Beatrice De.
