(Fulk) "the Black" Comte d' Anjou, known as Le Noir (the Black), was born about 0972 in Anjou, France.1   Le Noir (the Black)'s father was Ct. 'Grisegonnelle' Comte d' Anjou (Grisegonnelle (grey mantle)) Geoffroy I and his mother was Adelais (Adelaide) of Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Ct. "the Good", Count of Anjou (Le Bon) Fulk II and Gerberga de Gatinais; his maternal grandparents were Ct. Robert I Count of Meaux & Troyes and Adelaide of Burgundy. He had three sisters named Ermengarde, of Anjou and Adelaide d'. He had two half-sisters named Mathilde of Chalons and Elisabeth of Chalons.  He died on May 22nd, 1040 in Metz, Moselle, Lorraine, France.  He was buried on June 21st, 1040 in Metz, Haute-Lorraine, France.2 1
