Ermengarde was born about 0960 in Anjou France.1   Ermengarde's father was Ct. 'Grisegonnelle' Comte d' Anjou (Grisegonnelle (grey mantle)) Geoffroy I and her mother was Adelais (Adelaide) of Vermandois.  Her paternal grandparents were Ct. "the Good", Count of Anjou (Le Bon) Fulk II and Gerberga de Gatinais; her maternal grandparents were Ct. Robert I Count of Meaux & Troyes and Adelaide of Burgundy. She had a brother and two sisters, named Le Noir (the Black), of Anjou and Adelaide d'. She had two half-sisters named Mathilde of Chalons and Elisabeth of Chalons.  She died on June 27th, 0992.1
