William de was born before 1101 in Roumare,Seine-Inferieure,Normandy.  William de's father was Roger Fitz Gerald de Roumare Lord of Spalding and his mother was Countess Lucia Taillebois Countess of Chester.  His paternal grandfather is Gerold de Roumare; his maternal grandparents were Ives (Ivo) de Taillebois , 1st Baron of Kendal and Lucia of Mercia. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Ranulph de, William De, Adeliza de, Alice Of, Agnes Le and N.N..  He died in 1151 in of Lincoln,England.
