Elizabeth was born on September 16th, 1295 in Tewksbury, Gloucester, England. Elizabeth's father was Gilbert the Red de Clare and her mother was Joan of Acre Plantagenet. Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Clare and Maude de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I Longshanks Plantagenet of England and Eleanor of Castile & Leon. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gilbert, Eleanor (Alinore) and Margaret. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Edward, Thomas, Joan, Isabella, Mary and Joan. She died at the age of 65 on November 4th, 1360. She was buried in 1360 in Minoresses' Convent Aldgate, London, England.General Notes
