Eleanor of Castile & was born in 1246 in Burgos,Castille, Spain.  Eleanor of Castile &'s father was Ferdinand III the Saint of Castile & Leon and her mother was Johanna de Danmartin of Ponthieu.  Her paternal grandparents were Alfonso IX el Barboro of Castile and Leon and Berengaria Alfonsez de Castile; her maternal grandparents were Simon de Danmartin and Marie (Jeanne) Talvas of Ponthieu. She had four brothers named Juan of Castile &, Simon of Castile &, Fernando of Castile & and Luis of Castile &.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Fadrique Infant of, Alfonso X the Wise of Castile &, Enrique Infant of, Felipe of, Sancho of, Manuel sn de Villena of, Leonor of, Berenguela of and Maria Infanta of.  She died at the age of 44 on November 24th, 1290 in Herdeby, near Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.

‌Eleanor of Castile & and Edward I Longshanks Plantagenet of were married in a religious ceremony on October 18th, 1254 in Abbey of Las Huelgas, Burgos, Castille, Spain.  They had four sons and eleven daughters, named John, Henry, Alfonso, Edward II Caernarvon of, Eleanor, Julian Katherine, Joan of Acre, Margaret, Berengaria, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Blanche, Mary, Alice and Isabella.
