Ferdinand II of was born in 1137.  Ferdinand II of's father was Alfonso VII Raimundez of Castile and Leon and his mother was Berenguela Berengar of Barcelona.  His paternal grandparents were Raymond of Burgundy and Urraca Alfonsez de Leon of Castile; his maternal grandparents were Raymond IV Arnolda the Great Berengar and Dulce Aldonza Milhaud de Gievaudun. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Sancho III the Desired of, Alfonso Infant of, Garcia Infant of, Sancha (Beatrice) of and Constance of. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Fernando Infant of, Sancha Alfonsez Infanta of and Urraca Alfonsa of.  He died in Benavente.
