David was born about 1144 in Brechin, Angusshire, Scotland.  David's father was Henry Canmore and his mother was Adeline de Warenne.  His paternal grandparents were David I 'the Saint' and Matilda Maud De Huntington; his maternal grandparents were William de Warenne and Elizabeth (Isabel) Capet. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William I "The, IV, Princess of Scotland, Princess of Scotland, Margaret and Marjory Canmore. He had a half-sister named Aufrica.  He died on June 17th, 1219 in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
