Adelaideof Savoy was born about 1092 in , Savoy, France.  Adelaideof Savoy's father was Ct. Humbert II of Savoy (Il grosso (the fat)) and her mother was Cts. Gisele of Bourgogne.  Her paternal grandparents were Ct. Amadeus II of Savoy and Jeanne or Joan of Geneva; her maternal grandparents were Ct. Guillaume II of Bourgogne (The Great) and Ettienette or Stephanie of Longwy. She had a brother named Amadeus III of Savoy.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Guillaume IV of Montferrat and Joan of Montferrat.  She died on November 18th, 1154.  She was buried in Montmartre, Savoie, France.

‌Adelaideof Savoy and The Fat were married in a religious ceremony in 1115 in Paris, France.  They had three sons named Robert I of Dreux, Pierre I of France and The Young.
