Humbert II of Savoy, known as Il grosso (the fat), was born about 1060 in , Savoy, France.  Il grosso (the fat)'s father was Ct. Amadeus II of Savoy and his mother was Jeanne or Joan of Geneva.  His paternal grandparents were Graf Otto I (Eudes) of Maurienne and Adelais of Susa & Turin; his maternal grandparents were Graf Gerhard II of Wassenberg and Bertha of Zutphen.  He was an only child.  He died on October 17th, 1103.  He was buried on October 19th, 1103.

They had a son and a daughter, named Amadeus III of Savoy and Adelaideof Savoy.
