William, known as Willie, was born on December 8th, 1919 in Ballygalda.  Willie's father was Patrick Larkin and his mother was Catherine Brennan.  His paternal grandparents were John Larkin and Margaret Connor; his maternal grandparents were John Brennan and Ellen Quigley. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Jim, Paddy, Tommy, Margaret, Maureen, Lena, Kitty and Brigid.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 68 on October 4th, 1988.
