Jacob was born on May 1st, 1838 in Zwammerdam.1  Jacob's father was Cornelis Abrahamszn Hoogendoorn and his mother was Annigje de Jong.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Dirkszn Hoogendoorn and Neeltje Cornelisdr de Haan; his maternal grandparents were Arie Gerritszn de Jong and Aaltje Gerritsdr Hoogendoorn. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Arij, Jan, Gerrit, N.N., Gerrit, Gerrit, Jacob, Floris, Aaltje, Aaltje and Jannigje.  He was the seventh oldest of the twelve children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Abraham, Cornelis, Marrigje, Marrigje, Marrigje, N.N. and Margje.  He died at 3 months old on August 10th, 1838 in Zwammerdam.1
