Abraham Dirkszn was born in March 1749 in Bodegraven and his baptism took place there on March 16th, 1749.1  Abraham Dirkszn's father was Dirk Hagenszn Hoogendoorn and his mother was Adriaantje Hendriksdr Verlaan.  His paternal grandparents were Hagen Gerritszn Hoogendoorn and Johanna Reijersdr Geestdorp; his maternal grandparents were Heynderik Jacobszn Verlaan and Cornelia Huygensdr Verdouw. He had twelve brothers and four sisters, named Hage Dirkszn, Hendrik Dirkszn, Hendrik Dirkszn, Jan Dirkszn, Jacobus Dirkszn, Reinier Dirkszn, Johannis Dirkszn, Johannis Dirkszn, Reynier Dirkszn, Isaac Dirkszn, Gerrit Dirkszn, Gerrit Dirkszn, Cornelia Dirksdr, Johanna Dirksdr, Johanna Dirksdr and Neeltje Dirksdr.  He was the thirteenth oldest of the seventeen children.  He died at the age of 80 on June 15th, 1829 in Zwammerdam.2
