Aaltje was born on May 24th, 1839 in Zwammerdam.1  Aaltje's father was Cornelis Abrahamszn Hoogendoorn and her mother was Annigje de Jong.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Dirkszn Hoogendoorn and Neeltje Cornelisdr de Haan; her maternal grandparents were Arie Gerritszn de Jong and Aaltje Gerritsdr Hoogendoorn. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named Arij, Jan, Gerrit, N.N., Gerrit, Gerrit, Jacob, Jacob, Floris, Aaltje and Jannigje.  She was the eighth oldest of the twelve children. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Abraham, Cornelis, Marrigje, Marrigje, Marrigje, N.N. and Margje.  She died at just 14 days old on June 7th, 1839 in Zwammerdam.1
