Mary was born in 1816 in Oakley, Hampshire and her christening took place there on July 2nd, 1816.1 2   Mary's father was Peter Oliver and her mother was Sarah Worte.  Her paternal grandparents were William Oliver and Anna Decker. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, Peter, Abraham, George, John, James, George, Kezia, Sarah and Jane.  She was the youngest of the eleven children.
