Peter was born in 1769 in Oakley, Hampshire and his christening took place there on January 8th, 1769.1 2   Peter's father was William Oliver and his mother was Anna Decker.  His paternal grandparents were William Oliver and Mary. He had six brothers named William, Isaac, David, Francis, Jacob and Charles.  He was the youngest of the seven children.
